Handsonlabs Software Academy (best described as a Non-Governmental, Nigerian registered ICT, Computer Systems Engr., E-Learning Firm), is specialized in cutting edge technologies that provides platforms for producing HANDS-ON, deep learning environment establishing key facts and figures learnt in theories of Computer Science, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics and other related subjects.
HISTORY (WHO WE ARE)
Handsonlabs pronounced Hands-On-Labs, Software Academy, started as a idea or concept (small office home -SOHO) office in 2006 while Oluwatobi Michael Owoeye was enrolled in undergraduate degree in computer science.
Then, he started consulting for undergraduates and post graduate students who needed computer program attache to their individual thesis required before graduation.
Later, in 2010, the first class of student’s were taught programming in Php.MySql Ogba Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria. It was also founded & inspired on the ever increasing needs of Nigerian Students who are at disparity with the ever changing trends and advances of software engineering skills on demand in the 21st century workplace or labour market. In addition, come 2011, a centre was rolled out on clegg street, Western Avenue, Surulere, Lagos, Nigeria where it operated on evenings and weekend classes and consultations up until 2014. Thereafter, focus was shifted to deep research and development in the sciences, technology, education and health.
In 2016, Hands-On-Labs, Software Academy, formally became registered with Corporate Affairs Commission, Nigeria with registration number 246776, and in 2017, fully with Nigerian Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) commission with Value Added Tax Number 20217104-0001. (MSTO-ALABA). Guaranty Trust Bank runs the corporate account for the firm. Hands-On-Labs, Software Academy is currently located in its own property at: 31/33 Yotomi Street, Carpenter Bus Stop, ilemba Awori, Iyana Igbede Road, Ajangbadi. Ojo. Lagos. Nigeria.
Hours of Operation: Mondays to Fridays: 4.30 pm to 11pm daily.
Weekends: 10 am to 11.30 pm and 3 pm to 7 pm ( Saturdays and Sundays respectively)
One of the major focus of Handsonlabs Software Academy is in Research and Development (Bioinformatics, Engineering), Robotics & Mobile Computing: Deep Learning Analytics, Computer Vision, Distributed and Parallel Computing, Machine Learning.

Flipped Classroom concept, Encouraging Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics from
human cradle, teenage and adolescent levels respectively towards achieving excellence and fulfillment in their chosen careers in their lifetime. Providing rich resources, training for fresh High School, University graduates in view of useful and up to date computer based technical skills.

There are five Health areas Handsonlabs Software Academy is currently researching:
1. Improving communication of Patients of Cervical Cancer, Obstetric Fistula, Club Foot & Cataract with caregivers.
2. Safety and Outcome Measures of Pain Medications used in Pregnant Women & Children.
3. Nutrition & Alcohol Outcomes (Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders, Cognition etc)
4. Secondary Analysis of Existing Data on Cancer (Genomics, Cancer Prevention, Cancer Survival)
5. Education & Health,
..with the use of Robotics & Mobile Computing: Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision,
Distributed/Parallel Computing, Machine Learning as tools for actionable insights.

protect the Environment”.
Handsonlabs is currently developing a Content Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) system to be used to
and images that are visually similar to endangered species query image with the help of a web-based
product search, surveillance, and visual place identification/Ground Truth of WILDLIFE and thereby support Environmental/Climate protection. Using Cloud Computing intensive back-end and front-end Education facility that will integrate analytics, computer vision, machine learning, distributed & parallel computing logistics towards Safe-guarding priority globally threatened species by identifying and addressing major threats and information gaps within the Cross Rivers State Hotpot in order to achieve the needed goal for long lasting Ecological, Bio-diversity & Wild Life preservation/conservation for generations of Humanity yet unborn and save the planet.

Meet OWOEYE, Oluwatobi Michael. He started out as a young Christian Missionary spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. Furthermore, his quest, skill and competence in Computer Systems and Software Technologies dates back to 1996, when he was preparing his first publication in Christian missions, which was later reviewed in Nigerian Guardian 12th of January edition 1998, as a “..must read book for every Bible Believer.”
Besides, he has over seventeen years experience in Computer Systems and Software Technologies. Furthermore, he has published several books and articles for humanity. One of His research papers on health was recently show-cased in African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMs)/Next Einstein Forum (NEF)’s [Scientific Gathering] Challenge Invention to Innovation competition in Kigali, Rwanda held between 26th and 28th March, 2018.
